PARTRIDGE HAUS IS A QUEER ART, DESIGN, AND CULTURE COLLABORATIVE FOUNDED BY GREGORY MATHIEU AND TYLER WHITAKER.

OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO ACTIVATE SPACES TO CREATE A NIGHTCLUB-MUSEUM MERGING QUEER CULTURE, DESIGN, COMMUNITY, AND CRITICAL RESEARCH.

  • Co-Founder, Architect

Gregory Mathieu is an architect, designer, and creative thinker based in Somerville, MA. He is queer, tall-ish, addicted to his french press, somewhat decent at piano, and deeply passionate about design.

His practice sits at the intersection of critical inquiry, community, and beauty, guided by the belief that queerness opens new ways of seeing and making.

His work aims to dismantle the systems and structures that uphold normative behaviors, while also imagining alternative futures - worlds that can be shaped and sustained through thoughtful design.

Creator and host of iconic local events like Sheer Bliss, Clown Town, & Sip!, and a founding member of the queer arts event collective Now What?, Tyler is deeply committed to cultivating spaces of radical joy through art, music, and dance.

Tyler brings their graphic design gusto, producer prowess, and musical might to the Partridge Haus. Their dream is to one day open a multi-use community space and nightclub to inspire a queerer, more connected Somerville.
